News from the Guidance Department:

 

  • This is a friendly reminder from your Guidance Department to check the Scholarships page on gorebs.org. Information on that page is current and updated often. Upcoming scholarship application deadlines include The Voice of Democracy Scholarship applications are due today and the 10 Words or Less Scholarship applications are due November 15th.

  • The PreACT test will be given to all 9th and 10th graders Tuesday, November 7th beginning 1st period. More information will follow.

  • Boys’ Soccer- vs Ouachita @ home tomorrow @ 5:30 + 7:00

  • Boys’ Basketball Scrimmage @ home vs Neville tomorrow @ 5:00

  • Cross Country @ South Bossier Park tomorrow.

  • The Varsity Football teams plays Ruston @ home  this Friday Night

  • Spirit Theme for this week is Neon Luau

  • Congrats to the Lady Rebel Soccer Team on their 4-1 victory in the scrimmage vs Ouachita earlier this week. Junior Alia Sanchez led the team with a hat trick and Dara Lowe added the fourth goal. Seniors Mae Moody and Harley Lockwood each had an assist as well.The Lady Rebels will end their preseason with another scrimmage vs Neville here at home next Tuesday Night. We'll have more details on that next week!

Club and Organization News:


 

  • Key Club’s next meeting will be tomorrow in the library at 7:15 am. If you cannot make this meeting then come to the one at 3:15 pm in room 3103. 


 

  • Yearbooks are now on sale! Students can scan the QR codes on the posters in the hallways or go to balfour.com, search for West Monroe High School, and purchase a yearbook for $75. 

 

  • Senior Baby Ads are also on sale at gorebs.org through online school payments. The deadline for ordering Senior Baby Ads is December 5th.


 

  • The Board Game Club will be meeting today right after school in the library.

 

  • Nov 13-17, the WMHS Student Life committee is hosting a Fall Festival during lunch shifts. There will be games and contests (like pumpkin decorating, races, a cakewalk, and more), yummy concessions you can buy (like Smores, Hot Chocolate, Cupcakes, and more), and a food drive (you could help win your homeroom a breakfast). To prepare  for the festival, you can purchase a festival tee and one of those special concessions for just $20. T-shirts can also be purchased with no snack items for $12. The link to pay will be on the online school payment page later today. This is only open this week, so if you want the shirt and special concession price, take care of this asap.

 

  • As part of the weeklong “Fall Festival” events, Student Council is hosting a homeroom canned food drive competition. The first period class that donates the most non-perishable food items during the week of November 13-17 will win a breakfast provided by Student Council. Let’s show some holiday spirit by helping out those in our community who are in need this holiday season.
